Residential Project – Under Construction

Brasschaat, Belgium – 2026

Compact building volumes as a contemporary housing typology near the village center.

The houses were designed as fully-fledged family homes with a thoughtful and flexible layout. The upper floor accommodates four bedrooms and two bathrooms in each dwelling, tailored to contemporary family living. The ground floor is organized around an open living space with a spacious entrance hall, guest toilet, and additional functions such as a home office, playroom, or utility room.

This project aligns with the municipal spatial implementation plan (RUP) for village densification, combining high-quality living with a compact footprint, attention to livability, and sustainable spatial development.

The semi-detached houses are constructed in Wasserstrich brick, with subtly recessed horizontal joints that emphasize the horizontal rhythm of the façades. Refined detailing gives the houses a distinct crown and a strong architectural identity. A plinth finished in natural wood introduces warmth and tactility to the streetscape.

The materialization and architectural language of the façades are based on a restrained and timeless aesthetic in which sustainability, detailing, and residential quality are central. Within the typology of the semi-detached family house, the design seeks a balance between compact living, spatial generosity, and a strong connection to the surrounding environment.

At the rear, the gardens connect to a wooded edge, creating a green and tranquil living environment in close proximity to the village center.
